Junior Women's WP Championships, Volos, Day 1

FINA World Junior Water Polo Championships

The draw between Italy and the Nederlands (9-9) was the most noticeable result in the first day of the 11th World Women’s Junior Championship which was completed in Volos.

Italians was first leading (5-1) but then, the team of Nederlands managed to reduce the dispute and to balance it out afterwards, in Group C.

Canada obtained the most important victory against Australia (12-9),  whereas the result in group A, between Russia and Japan, in which the Asian team could have set in danger the win of Russia (23-20), was significant.

USA, Greece and Spain had a comfortable evening, beating Mexico, Great Britain and Ukraine with impressively high rates. Hungary took a comfortable victory over South Africa (18-3) in Group B and Brazil over New Zealand.

The squad changes and the new regulations that FINA has entered in these World Championships have been interesting, as proved.
