FINA pays tribute to Russian and Tatar authorities in Kazan

On the occasion of the successful FINA World Championships currently being held in Kazan, Russia, FINA paid tribute to the Russian authorities by rewarding Russia’s Minister of Sport Mr. Vitaly Mutko and the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mr. Rustam Minnikhanov with the highest FINA award, the FINA Order.

The FINA Order is generally granted to Head of States or individuals of high dignity, who have achieved remarkable merit in the world of Aquatics. FINA discerned this recognition to Mr. Vitaly Mutko and Mr. Rustam Minnikhanov to reward their active involvement in FINA’s biggest showcase event and to show gratitude for their commitment toward aquatic sports.



The ceremony took place on August 7, 2015, two days away from the end of the FINA World Championships during the traditional FINA Gala Dinner which reunites the great FINA Family for an entertaining night highlighted by a cultural and musical show.
