The Asian stop of the 2012 FINA Swimming Officials School programme was successfully organised by the Amateur Swimming Union of Malaysia from April 30 to May 1, 2012 at the National Sports Stadium Complex. The School had a total of 38 participants. Among them, 15 were from the host Federation and 23 came from seven different countries (Indonesia, Iran, Qatar, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Trinidad & Tobago).

All participants were eager to learn and actively took part in discussions. Poolside sessions were organised at the 50m pool at the National Swimming Complex, which was built for the Commonwealth Games. Six girls and six boys from the Kuala Lumpur Ikan Bilis Swim Club were present with their coach. The participants were divided into two teams and trained their officiating skills with various swimming events.
